Brand teams need creator tracking software when a partner roster is clear but the content record is not. The job is to find what partners published, decide which posts belong to a launch or ongoing program, keep the original links, and see the performance data that is publicly available.
Start with the decision the report must support
Before choosing software, write down the decision: Is the team checking whether deliverables went live, comparing content formats, reporting results to leadership, or deciding which creators to work with again? A tracker should preserve the evidence for that decision. A total view count alone cannot explain which posts were counted.
Build a roster of the public accounts you actually work with. For each platform, record the reporting dates, campaign terms, expected mentions or hashtags, and known direct post links. Verify that each handle belongs to the right creator. The cross-platform guide explains how to keep this record consistent.
Review before reporting
Search matches are candidates, not final campaign posts. A creator can use a term in unrelated content, or publish an agreed post without the exact campaign tag. Review the post itself, include or exclude it, and keep the source URL. Show missing metrics as unavailable rather than zero. This makes a weekly update useful to both marketing and finance.
For a recurring program, set a review cadence and keep the same inclusion rule over time. For a launch, agree on the start and end dates before the first report. Use the report template to connect summary numbers to included posts.
Where Recap fits
Recap is built for teams that already have creators to track. Create separate trackers for the platforms in your program, add accounts and matching rules or direct URLs, review public posts, and prepare a report. Recap supports X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube in the connected workflow. The public sample tracker uses fictional posts so you can inspect the flow before registering.
The founding plan lists $29 per month, up to 50 creators per tracker, 31-day tracker windows, and CSV exports. Recap is not a creator discovery, outreach, gifting, or payment system. If those are the main tasks, compare a broader platform. Our agency software guide includes several options and the checks to run in a trial.
If your partner roster is ready, start tracking creators.
